I graduated from Glasgow University in 1994, having trained in all aspects of dentistry for five years at Glasgow Dental Hospital.

I refined my skills in a large mixed NHS/private practice in Milngavie, a dormitory town on the outskirts of Glasgow. (At the other end of the West Highland Way). This was where I undertook my Vocational Training. I gained experience in all aspects of dentistry, including minor oral surgery, conservative dentistry and prosthetics. I saw a high percentage of the children who attended the practice. At the end of my vocational training, I was asked by the principle to become an associate. I spent a further three and a half years as an associate there and then moved to Fort William in 1997 where I purchased the Family Dental Practice on the High Street.

Four years later we merged the Family practice and The Dental Care Centre in August 2001 as both Ken and myself realised that in order to provide the best service we would be better merging the two practices and work together for a common goal

When not doing dentistry or teaching young graduate dentists I have many interests:

Mountaineering - I have climbed most Scottish mountains. I have also climbed Mont Blanc, Mount Olympus, Wilspitz and Mount Kinabulu (the highest in South East Asia) Canoeing - Senior Instructor involved in teaching white water canoeing to children. I enjoy skiing and snowboarding and have just recently mastered the art of telemark skiing. I enjoy mountain biking and fell running. I hope to try paragliding (if my life assurance company let me!) as many of my friends within Lochaber are enjoying this sport.
